Test coverage and flaky tests
Backfill the tests that were skipped and quarantine the flakes that slow every run.
Every repository has two kinds of test debt: code that works but was never tested, and tests that fail so often people ignore them.
The first gets new tests. The second gets moved aside with the reason written down, so a red build means something again.
Backfill the regression test for a bug that shipped without one
The test fails when the fix is reverted
Backfill unit tests for one uncovered module
Coverage report before and after, in the pull request
Consolidate duplicated fixtures into one factory
Every touched test still passes, the duplicates are gone
Fix a flaky test, or quarantine it with the cause written down
Passes across repeated runs in CI, cause named in the description
Add the missing end-to-end test for one critical path
Browser trace and screenshots attached to the pull request
Replace an over-mocked test with a contract test
The test fails when the real shape changes
Re-express tests that assert implementation detail as behaviour tests
Removing assertions is reviewed on the plan before any edit
