API surface and contracts
Bring the specification back in line with the handlers, and regenerate every client from it.
The spec and the code slowly stop matching, and every team that calls the API pays for the gap.
This work makes them agree again, then rebuilds the clients so other teams get correct types instead of a note in the changelog.
Backfill the API description for routes that already exist
Spec validates against a response test per route
Give one group of endpoints the same error format
Every route returns the same shape, asserted per route
Harden a webhook receiver
A test for each rejection path
Regenerate the client and fix the call sites it breaks
Generated client committed, every consumer compiles
Add caching headers and conditional requests to read endpoints
Cache behaviour asserted, payload savings measured
Add idempotency keys to mutating endpoints
Replay test proving one effect from two identical calls
Add pagination and filtering to list endpoints that return everything
Contract tests at the page boundaries and on the empty page
Add the bulk endpoint that clients are emulating with a loop
Contract tests on partial success and on the size limit
Migrate one endpoint group from the legacy handler pattern
Identical responses, asserted by the existing contract tests
Version an endpoint and keep the old one working
Old and new both covered, the deprecation date recorded
